What is Kestra, in one sentence?
A licensed cryptocurrency exchange: you send euro, pound or dollar from your bank, swap it for coins like Bitcoin or Ethereum at the market rate, and swap it back to cash whenever you want. We charge 0.10% on the trade and nothing on deposits or bank withdrawals.
How much do I need to start?
€10. There's no account fee and no minimum balance, so you can buy a fraction of a coin — most people's first purchase is well under €100. You can always sell part of a holding rather than all of it.
Why do you need my ID?
Because we're licensed. Any exchange operating legally in the EU or UK has to verify who its customers are before they can trade. It takes about three minutes: a photo of your passport or ID card, and a selfie. We don't sell that data or use it for anything else.
Can I lose money?
Yes. Crypto prices move sharply and can fall as fast as they rise — a coin can lose most of its value in a day, and there's no compensation scheme for market losses. Only put in what you'd be prepared to lose entirely, and treat anyone promising guaranteed returns as a fraud.
What happens to my coins if Kestra goes under?
Customer assets are held separately from company funds, so they are not ours to spend and not available to our creditors. 95% sits in offline cold storage, and we publish a monthly proof-of-reserves attestation you can check your own balance against. If you'd rather not rely on any of that, move your coins to the self-custody wallet — then only you hold the keys.
